The more than 40,000 companies registered on the ChileProveedores platform will be able to expand their business opportunities in Chile and around the world from July thanks to an agreement with Alibaba.com, the largest international B2B e-commerce website. The platform brings together more than 6 million companies registered in 240 countries.
Through the agreement, companies registered with ChileProveedores will be able to promote their products and services at a global level, initially in English and later in Chinese, according to the deputy sales manager of ChileProveedores, Alejandro Arlegui, who added that "the main benefit we see from this agreement will be the platform it will create for people to promote themselves in markets which they currently don't have access to in order to sell their goods and services".
Arlegui was talking at a seminar entitled "ChileProveedores, business opportunities beyond public procurement", organized by the Valparaíso Regional Chamber of Commerce (CRCP) and the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS). The seminar also highlighted the new web tools available for business efficiency and effectiveness, as well as the facilities provided by the ChileProveedores portal that allow companies to participate in public and private purchasing processes. These facilities include the possibility of adding a company résumé, electronic catalogues for products and services, the possibility of managing a company website and access to business notices.
